Why Qweens was Founded
Benitta Napitalai founded Qweens in 2022 with a deep
passion for preserving culture and empowering women.
Growing up, she saw firsthand the skill and dedication of
women weavers in Goroka, yet many struggled to earn a fair
income for their craft. She knew their work deserved more—
A platform where their artistry could be valued and
celebrated.
Qweens was born from that vision: to create opportunities
for women weavers, connect their craftsmanship to the
world, and ensure that every bilum carries not just beauty,
but also impact.
Through Qweens, Benitta hopes to inspire women to recognize their worth, embrace
their independence, and build a future where their talents are truly appreciated.
